- Recently given a great response at Monreagh House and Lifford Library. Other parishes in the east Donegal have also been researched: All Saints, Raphoe, Clonleigh.
What happened to Asmoyan? It was last seen on a list of townlands in 1665 (Hearth Money Rolls). By a little bit of canny detective work, Seoirse and fellow detective, Kathryn Daily, located this lost townland name while driving towards the town of Raphoe. When Kathryn spotted the waterfall, it was clear, instantly, that we had located the spot. Directly below the waterfall, on the far side of the road, was, indeed, a little plain. For some unknown reason, this beautifully descriptive name was dropped and replaced by the two townland names of Burnside and Braehead.
